What is quality when referring to earthworks?

Soil is a very complex and variable structural material. Understanding the properties of the soil on a specific site and treating it with the specific care and requirements it deserves is the difference between money spent on a project that may fail or a stable situation that will provide value as intended for many decades to come. All too often (especially in residential work) we see works done that have inherent issues due to lack of care taken. Issues such as subsidence, slipping, erosion and differential settlement can cause extremely costly and complex to repair problems. We manage this by ensuring that we take the time to understand the site specific requirements and plan and execute our work accordingly.
